Polyphonic is a music streaming platform that prides itself on its’ indie / underground leanings and values putting the needs of its’ growing community above all.
The Challenge: design a branded microsite for a streaming service to host a year-in-review presentation for their subscribers.
The Q: how can we craft and design a thoughtful presentation of Polyphonic’s yearly milestones to share with the community that helped achieve them, while keeping in line with the company’s culture of indie/underground stylings and DIY ethics?
The A: we begin with a simple colour palette and clear graphic language reminiscent of handmade concert posters plastered on downtown lamp posts, while a motif of overlapping type adds a bespoke departure from the ordinary. Finally, using imagery of instrument schematics, we allude to the idea of breaking down the years’ achievements.
